Orjime Fred Mrp writes Hon. Mrs. Beckie Orpin; Honourable Chairman, Gboko Local Government.

Dear ma,
As a compatriot who has an immeasurable worth
of conscience, hates injustice and indiscipline, I
might still have toiled the same devilish part by
not writing to your office nor congratulating you
on time as regards your landslide victory in the
June 3rd local government polls in Benue state.
This is coming late due to my official one month
break away from social media. Please ma, accept
my apologies!
However, your victory cannot be linked to shock
as it is a well-deserved.
Hon. Mrs. Beckie Orpin, you were duly elected by
we the electorates as the executive chairman,
steering Gboko local governments’ affairs. It has
being the most happiest thing that has happened
to Gboko in recent times. But due to unforeseen
circumstances, I failed in my own little capacity
as a true son of the soil to congratulate you even
on or after your inauguration into office.
Accept my apologies once more!
Ma, permit me to pay a visit to my archives; call
on history to come take it's full course! During
your tenure as sole administrator, {SOLAD}Gboko
local government, we eulogized your sound ideas
and timely execution of projects across party
lines. This zealous spirit to work in an untiring
manner should never be intimidated nor defeated
due to the pressure that always come to offices
like the one you are holding, from different
reliable but most at times unrealiable sources
just to gain petty sympathy, cheap attention and
popularity from the general public.
Ma again, do bear in mind that when your
kinsmen are not in love with you, you can dance
in water but they would still complain about you
pouring them dust in the eyes! Keep your
attention focused!
I recently heard that you have placed a ban that
on no account should posters and bill boards
reflecting the biggest opposition party in the
whole of West Africa, the People's Democratic
Party be pasted and or erected anywhere in
Gboko, but gave an authorization for that of our
amiable Governor, Samuel Ortom Ph.D and that of
the senator representating zone A, senator
Gemade. I don't know how and what your
calculations are and as well, don't want to
believe in the said statement as it could only lead
to demeaning and ridiculing of your untainted
image. As an intellect, I also sense a clear
picture of saboteurs on a very high level. But
inasmuch as I never believed in that, I still do
believe in the fact that in every single iota of
falsehood, there are elements of truth in it. It's
not healthy for a prestigious personality like
yours!
That’s my humble advice!
As a mother who has an uncommon wealth of
experience and a heart everyone cherishes, I
would want to bring to your notice some
attributes that can help skyrocket the desired
name we all clamor for you to have in terms of
good governance, especially in Ukpekpe council
ward, in Mbayion clan, if only you submissively
key into those features.
Basically, the Ukpekpe council ward in Mbayion is
one of the most biggest and well-known wards in
your local government.
Our joy will know no bounds if your
administration outshines and eliminates these
salient killers of your people in the ward. We have
a lot of dire problems, but our emphasies and top
priorities lie thus:
Security: security agents especially the grass
root policing {vigilante group} should be
encouraged and motivated in terms of arms,
patrol vans and monthly token to boast their
morale so as to help secure lives and properties
diligently.
Poor Water Source: ma, it might interest your led
administration to know that water is one of the
most basic necessities of life; and that has being
our major problem for more than a decade now.
Tse Natu/Yonguigba as one of the biggest and
largest families in Ukpekpe council ward is not on
the opposing side.
Ma, reflect on this question pose thus:
Where is our health if there is no good water
source?
We are fully aware that before your tenure
elapses, justice must be done to our water
source.
No Good Roads: the entire Mbayion clan has no
good roads, but most paramountly, the situation
report in Ukpekpe council ward is more critical
and too pitiable.
We are predominantly peasant farmers. Marketing
of our farm produce become a problem when and
where no good roads exist.
Our yearnings and aspirations are not directed
towards tar roads, but at least our roads be
graded on a quarterly or annually basis.
On this also I believe justice shall prevail in a
short while.
Electricity: Rt. Hon. John Dyegh Ph.D will not be
forgotten in a hurry up to our third through
fourth and fifth generations.
His chosen career shall know no breath, width,
length nor height.
I would have gone far on the issue of electricity
in Ukpekpe council ward in Mbayion, but I
purposely resisted sentimental temptations.
Please, pardon my manners!
However, further electrification should also be
reconsidered and extended to our interior villages
like FADA; where poles were fixed initially but
with no wires connected to step down the light
for usage.
Another issue that sets my heart ablaze as
regards electricity is the inhuman nature of the
NEPA office unit in Tsekucha, overseeing the
transformer in Tse Natu/Yonguigba.
As it is there nature, the G&P of the
transformer often goes down one or two days
after the bills have being collected. Ma, we don’t
have light as I speak to you right now, stand for
us!
Massive Unemployment: this also have to be
looked into with an aim to proffering solution.
Fertilizer Disbursement: fertilizer is very
important to we farmers since Dangote has
polluted our good fertile soil. Well, even coming
from a neutral ground; for the short-sighted
people who don’t have a sense of good judgement
and would want to dwell on sentiments by viewing
my comment as being negative in my outings,
farmers need fertilizer on a lighter mood.
But in the last couple of years, Ukpekpe council
ward had not received a bag of fertilizer from
the local government for crops. I have not been
educated on the sharing formula and therefore
lacks knowledge anyway.
On this as well, we hope to have a listening ear
from you.
These are the few but detrimental issues I humbly
present before your office. But should incase I
forgot some, my Ukpekpe council ward’s local
representative at Gboko legislative, in whom I am
well pleased; Hon. Adzungul Vincent, collectively
with his Gboko - East counterpart, Comr. Iorshe
Terkimbi Iorshe; in the spirit of oneness and
togetherness, the duo shall unfold them as time
goes on.
I shall be writing to your office from time to
time especially on issues that will ignite a
breakthrough for your current led administration
and whenever the need arises.
I want to appeal to you for pardon if I ever used
derogatory words on your person. I never meant
to demean nor bring you down to a subject of
ridicule!
May God in his infinite mercies continue to guide,
give you protection and a very good sense of
direction as you climb your ladder of success to
bring down to us a greater Gboko, Amen!
Long live the Hon. Chairman;
Long live Hon. Adzungur Vincent;
Long live Hon. Iorshe Terkimbi Iorshe;
Long live Gboko legislative house;
Long live Gboko local government;
Long live Benue state;
Long live Nigeria.
